Start with a safe copy
Choose your scope
The navigation follows Systemhaus → customer → infrastructure → rack. Select a customer to see that customer’s racks. Locations, buildings and rooms help describe where equipment is installed. Edit the Systemhaus name and customer details in infrastructure management.
Language and names
Choose English, German or Spanish in Settings. Your own customer, device and location names remain exactly as entered. Changing language translates interface labels, not your inventory names.
Click-Click: document a connection
1 · Choose the source
Open a rack and click an available, compatible source port. The app marks the selection.
2 · Choose the destination
Click the available, compatible destination port. RackClick creates the documented connection. Normal free-port connections take two clicks. For another rack, navigate to that rack before choosing the destination.
Exceptions are deliberate
A reserved port requires confirmation before a new connection. Disabled or faulty ports block it. If a selected port becomes unavailable, choose a valid source again. Do not use the drawing as proof of a working physical link.
Reconnect or cancel
Double-click a connected port to start reconnecting its cable, then select the new destination. Cancel with Escape to keep the original connection. Check both endpoints and the cable note after the change.
Make it useful in the field
Give the cable a meaningful colour and note. Add port labels, equipment names, serial numbers, IP addresses and model information. Hover over equipment and connected ports to read the documented details.
Devices, front, rear and power
Devices and templates
Add a preset or a custom device. Edit its metadata and port groups; save a reusable template or mark a favourite. Check the physical arrangement against the real unit. A template is a documentation starting point, not a manufacturer-certified drawing.
Front and rear
Switch between front and rear to document the interfaces on each side, including power equipment and cables. Follow the actual device layout and verify both endpoints when a connection crosses views.
PoE: individual and range
Use a port’s actions for individual PoE. For a range, open the device options, choose batch port status, set From and To, then choose PoE on or off. Do not confuse this with the all-ports action. Enter the documented watts separately.
What the yellow symbol means
RC9 uses a yellow filled lightning bolt for documented active PoE; inactive PoE has an unfilled symbol. RackClick does not measure consumption or control the switch. The watts, status and budget are information you record.
Save, move and recover your work
Autosave is local
Autosave uses this browser’s storage. It does not write your project into the HTML file. Browser profiles, file locations and clearing browser data can affect access. Use one active editing tab; the offline edition is not a multi-user synchronisation service.
Customer or complete backup?
Save customer JSON exports the active customer. Export complete backup saves the full multi-customer project. Check the selected scope, open or verify the downloaded file and keep a separate copy. Project JSON is not a complete copy of browser-local favourites, templates and snapshots.
Working from USB
You can carry the app on a USB drive. Carry the exported JSON as well: moving the HTML alone does not move your work. On the other computer, open the app and load a copy of the JSON. Keep the original export until you have checked the result.
Snapshots and recovery
Create a named snapshot before a major edit. Snapshots stay in browser storage and do not replace an external backup. To restore, first export the current work, then choose the saved snapshot or load your JSON copy. Verify customer, rack and connection counts.
If saving fails
A warning or failed-save indicator means storage did not succeed. Export the current in-memory project immediately and verify the file. For recovery or quarantine screens, preserve the rescue download before resetting anything. Do not clear the profile as a first troubleshooting step.
Reports and labels
Choose the right scope
Open the customer report for the customer’s inventory; open a rack report for one rack. Customer and all-customer CSV exports have different scopes. Check the heading and contents before sharing.
Batch labels match individual labels
In RC9, all rack labels for a customer use the same layout as an individual label. Open a customer, choose all rack labels, then Print / PDF. Check paper size and scaling in print preview. The QR-style decoration is not a scannable QR code.
Read label counts correctly
The connection count on rack labels counts local rack connections, not a total including cross-rack links. A PDF is created through the browser’s print dialog when you choose a PDF destination.

Available now
A single-file offline tool, synthetic examples, editable infrastructure, documented ports and cables, reports and data export. No server account is required for the offline edition.
Planned server edition
Central database, authenticated users, groups and scoped permissions, API and controlled return of field data are planned for the Systemhaus server edition. They are not delivered by this offline HTML. The online demonstration does not provide shared multi-user storage.
